What I thought was going to be a vosot turned into a pkg. I was sent to Tacoma at 4:57pm at the peak of traffic. I get there 15 minutes late but it is not that big of a deal for it started late. So...by myself...I am off shooting a pkg. Best of all...they turned off all the lights in the room! Just GREAT for video! They should have just blown out the candles too! After Marlees attempt at three different stories with Adam she was now on her way down. Marlee showed up in Tacoma at around 9:45 or so. The event did not start till 7:30 (was going to start at 7pm) and the only thing worth shooting started around 9:15. So for 45 minutes I watched people eat their hearts out. I snuck in a desert or two to hold me over but the sight of main course made me cringe. Another night with no lunch. So...in a crunch but we got it done. Took about 15 or so minutes to edit the pkg. Oh and as for the liveshot...I chose sticks! What were we going to "show"?
Marlee did a great job ripping out the story the best she could. Not her fault that three other stories she was working on fell through. I also love it when a reporter says "put nats in where you want". So I did! DING!

Kevin and I went to that event last year, while we were shooting the crane collapsed in Bellevue, so you can guess what happened to our story.
Nice job Pete, really simple story, and that simplicity keeps the focus of the story locked in..
Nice job with the low lighting too.. shoot the light you got I guess!
